Questions about injury claims
If yours isn’t here, ask it when you call.
How much does it cost to hire you?
Most injury cases are handled on a contingency fee: you pay no attorney’s fee unless we recover money for you, and the percentage is in writing before you sign. Case costs, such as records fees and filing fees, are separate, and your agreement says how they are handled, including what you owe if there is no recovery.
Do I pay anything for the first call?
The first call is an introduction, and there is no attorney’s fee for it. Whether we work together is decided afterward, in writing.
Will you speak with me in Spanish?
Yes. Adelina and Álvaro both speak Spanish, so calls, meetings and documents can be in Spanish.
Can my family member call for me?
Yes, to set up a call. For legal advice we’ll want to hear from you directly, or have your permission to talk with them.
Do I need a lawyer after a small crash?
Not always. If no one was hurt and the repairs are simple, you may not. If you’re sore, missed work or the insurer is pushing back, a short call can tell you where you stand.
Do I have to give the other insurer a recorded statement?
You can usually wait. Give your basic details, say you’re not ready for a statement, and call us before you agree to one.
How long do I have to bring a claim?
Deadlines are short, and they differ by claim and by state. Some pass within a year or two, so call soon and we’ll check yours.
How long will my claim take?
It depends on how long you need treatment and how many insurers are involved. We tell you the next step at each stage, not a date we can’t promise.
Will I have to go to court?
Most claims settle without a trial, but we can’t promise that. If a lawsuit is the best next step, we talk it through with you first.
What if my crash was outside Amarillo?
Call anyway. We handle crashes across the Texas Panhandle, and if yours is elsewhere we’ll say so and point you to someone who can help.
Is there a question we missed?
Ask us on a first call. There’s no attorney’s fee for asking.
